Glycolic acid is also named Hydroxyacetic acid,is
the first member of the alpha hydroxy acid family
of carboxylic acidsthe he formula for glycolic acid
is HOCH2COOH, and the molecular weight is 76.05. The
Chemical Abstracts name is "acetic acid, hydroxy-"
and the CAS Registry Number is 79-14-1. Glycolic acid
is very soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone,
acetic acid, and ethyl acetate. It is slightly soluble
in ethyl ether, but only sparingly soluble in hydrocarbon
solvents.
USAGE:
Glycolic acid can be used to wash high-pressure stainless
steam boiler heat exchanger, printed circuit board,copper
ware or copper alloy casting, brick materials, equipments
for dairy products, etc..additive in many fields,
such as cosmetic, metalworking,electro- plating, electropolishing,
tanning, spinning, dye printing,
